I live, work and raise my family in Kanata. I’m a politico, Liberal, lawyer, mom, wife, community leader & volunteer
My husband and I have two active and engaging boys who help ensure that we keep the important things in life at the top of our minds. They also provide the motivation for me to be involved with all the community work I do and for keeping engaged in politics. Every day I feel the obligation to participate in making sure Canada continues to be the wonderful place it is for them as they grow and raise their own families.
In 2007 and 2011 I was the candidate for the Ontario Liberal Party in Carleton – Mississippi Mills. Through two intense campaigns I learned both the depth of the obligation to speak for our community members and also the gift that it is to be in that position.
I am a business lawyer in Kanata and work closely with the business community on many projects and issues. Our family is tied to the high tech community in Ottawa through my husband’s work as well as my own. I am a passionate advocate for the technology industry in Ottawa as well as across Canada and I hold strong beliefs about our need to invest more in education as well as bringing the brightest minds from around the world to settle in Canada.
I am very proud of my contribution to our community: I have always been active in whatever community I have lived in and Kanata has been no exception. My work in our community includes fundraising for our new Recreation Centre, assisting with Canada Day in Kanata, supporting the important work of the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa and volunteering countless hours with local school committees. I pride myself on being a strong advocate for our community, not shying away from tackling difficult issues.
